The Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy (KELA) is a dynamic initiative designed to empower local youth by providing them with the resources, skills, and opportunities to unlock their potential. Through strategic partnerships with educational institutions, local businesses, and community organizations, KELA offers a range of programs focused on career development, academic support, and entrepreneurial growth.

Serving students from middle school through young adulthood, KELA aims to build a strong foundation for future success by fostering innovation, education, and workforce readiness, all while contributing to the revitalization of Kenosha’s central neighborhoods.

WHO WE SERVE:

  • Middle school students

  • High school students

  • Young adults (18 to 24 years old)

  • Students interested in pursuing college, entrepreneurship, or technical careers

What Opportunities Are Available:

  • Academic support in math, reading, and technology
  • Access to college credit programs and GED/HSED programming

  • Career exploration in fields such as emergency services, healthcare, education, and building trades

  • Mentorship and pre-college advising from local colleges and universities

MISSION

KELA’s mission is to provide young people with learning resources and opportunities for discovering their interests and developing skills that lead to career paths.

VISION

The Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy (KELA) is a collaborative initiative led by the City of Kenosha. KELA’s purpose is to provide “Steps to Success” opportunities for middle school students, high school students, and young adults 18 to 24 years old living in six central city of Kenosha neighborhoods.

KELA’s goal is to help students explore their interests, develop their talents, and empower them with the knowledge and tools they need to pursue their dreams.
